About Shoresh Hebrew High School

Shoresh Hebrew High School is a unique Jewish studies program for 8th–12th grade students from diverse backgrounds attending secular schools in the Greater Washington area. Shoresh Hebrew High School also presents A Taste of Shoresh for Adults. The Shoresh program helps you: BUILD a strong foundation to achieve Jewish literacy BECOME a critical thinker about our Jewish heritage FIND a sense of shared community and destiny among all Jews MEET the challenges of American Jewish life Our goals are to help members:
  • Read and understand the Siddur
  • Study and analyze Biblical text in Hebrew and English
  • Acquire an understanding of basic texts of Jewish Law and Ethics
  • Complete a survey of Jewish history and thought from Abraham to Zionism
